But before we fill you in … let’s tell you a bit about us. The Aloé story begins in 2013 with our founder and original Aloé Angel, Chloe Fisher (formerly Chapman). After chasing many summers around the globe in nothing but a swimsuit Chloe became inspired with the idea of reversible swimwear pieces. After 6 years of making women around the world feel beautiful and confident in their swimwear, Chloe felt it was time to start a new journey and hand over her wings to a new Angel… this is where our new director and designer Kate comes in. See our Q & A with Kate below and get to know her a little bit more.
How did you become the new director and designer of Aloé Swimwear?
I had been following Chloe on social media for several years and was already quite familiar with the brand. Chloe posted a story on Instagram about selling Aloé and I happened to see it. I decided to put in for it, not even thinking that I would get a look in, as I had sent my application email quite late in the process. After some back and forth with Chloe over email and phone calls, she picked me to take over the brand and I was absolutely over the moon!!
What inspired you to reach out to Chloe?
In a desire for the beach life that I wanted to live, I had recently uprooted my life and moved 14 hours away from my hometown to the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. I was all on my own and away from family and friends, so you could say that I had a lot of time on my hands between surfs. I had always had an interest in fashion and was basically living in a bikini 99.9% of the time. I had been thinking about starting my own label or side hustle for a while and when I saw the opportunity to take over Aloé arise, I thought, why the hell not!?, I’ve got nothing to lose! And the rest is history basically.
What do you love about Aloé?
I love the reversible feature! As you get two beautiful, good quality swimwear pieces in one for such a reasonable price. I also love that you can mix n match the pieces and colourways to suit your style if you’re vibing a more unique look. The brand also inspires me to live my best bikini life and has given me more confidence than ever before.
What could possibly be next for Aloé?
I would love to do more beachwear and over swim pieces and of course, expand our overall market whilst continuing to make girls all over the world feel beautiful and confident in their own skins.
Some quick questions for our Angel Kate:
Typical coffee order:
Skinny caramel latte
My mantra is:
No one is you and that is your power – get it gurl.
Favourite Aloé piece:
My favourite one piece would have to be the Santorini one piece in Midnight Polka, and my favourite bikini set is the Chloe bottoms paired with the Alex top in Ink, everyone needs a little black kini!
Favourite Holiday Destination:
What does a typical weekend look like for you?
My days usually start with an early morning surf or a beach walk, followed by coffee on the beach from my favourite local café. When I’m not working hard on Aloé, you’ll find me down at the beach (again!) or a having a sunset drink with friends. I also love a good wine and cheese platter or quiet night in with a good movie and a woodfired pizza. I love my chill time!
Early riser or night owl:
Sunrise or Sunsets:
I love them both for their own reasons, but if I really must choose, let’s go with Sunset…you just can’t beat golden hour!
